This specific page is the requests page for the Illustration Workshop. Anyone can make a request for an illustration to be created or improved. The standard format for making a request is shown below, along with general advice, and should be followed.

@Bpmcneilly: Thank you for creating the file! Just one or two things; Could the sword-arm-and-motto emblem be moved to the right, so that it's situated midway between the St. George's Cross and the exact point where the flag splits into two tail-ends? And could the letters of the motto be changed into all-capitals (I know it's difficult to determine for sure, but that's the impression I got from looking at the visual source image)? @Snow Lion Fenian: - The caps is no problem & I've got that done. Re: the spacing of the sword & motto, I see what you mean about the placement. I tried to position it all exactly half-way between the St. George's Cross & the split, but that's actually to the *left* of where it is now (Not what I expected either just looking at it). 3/4 of the way would visually push it a bit to the right? For what it's worth, I took the current spacing from the sample image, so that *should* be as close as possible to that example. @Bpmcneilly: Thank you for pointing that out. :) With that information in mind, I'm now inclined to think the emblem would be better off remaining unchanged from its current position. I have recently visited the en:Bangladesh Military Museum, where insignias of various formations and ranks were displayed. However, I have not uploaded those images to Wikimedia Commons due to uncertainty about their copyright status. Creating SVG versions of these insignias (and corresponding flags where applicable) would be valuable additions to Commons. Hello, Tausheef Hassan. I agree that these images would be valuable for Commons; however —
  1. Regarding the copyright concerns, please refer to Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Bangladesh and determine the photographs' copyright status. If your jpg photos are subject to copyright concerns, vectorizing them into SVGs are not going to magically lift the copyright restrictions.
  2. This is a loaded request of 50 - 60 images at once, with varying complexities. Most of them are not mere simple geometric shapes, but with complex vehicles / weapons / animals involved.
  3. Some of the images in your Google Drive is not properly labeled. This makes it extremely hard to identify which badge belongs to which troop, or what text to put on the badges.
  4. Some of the images are taken with light source not so ideal, making it hard to discern the details (reflections, over/under exposure).
The best way to make us graphists take the "bait" and do the vectorization is to verify their copyright status, clean up the images (adjusting exposure level, crop, etc), organize them, and upload the individual badges to Commons. Some people in Commons:Graphic Lab/Photography workshop may be able to assist with certain steps here. Then launch a request for them in multiple different batches, with about 5 badges per request.  Not done --痛Designism (talk) 05:20, 15 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

In addition to the 1960 flag (File:Flag of the British Virgin Islands (1960–1999).svg) the Governor's flag (File:Flag of the Governor of the British Virgin Islands (1960–1999).svg) and the 1956 flag (File:Flag of the British Virgin Islands (1956–1960).svg) should also be vectorized. @Snow Lion Fenian In addition, I also found a webpage that actually has the old red ensign from 1960 to 1999. If you look carefully, this coat of arms is slightly smaller than the current 1999 version, and it does not have the white edge of the current 1999 version. Hi. Yes, I am very satisfied with this, as it follows the party’s guidelines. However, I was not aware of what you found regarding the flags in last year’s posts not using italicised text. I am therefore not sure what needs to be done. Should we use some kind of “official” version to illustrate the articles simply because it is stated in their guidelines, or should we revert to normal text, since that seems to be what the party has been using lately? My guess what’s happening is they updated their flag at some point to the Instagram version without updating their official document, and nobody bothered to correct it in their document. The usual way this is handled on Commons is that we make both flags; title the first version “flag of XXX (2005)” and the second one “flag of XXX (2013)” i can see the flag has been in use since at least 2013 痛Designism (talk) 04:19, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a {{FakeSVG}} but a {{TracedSVG}}. The existing version should be correctly tagged so. When uploading the new SVG, please just overwrite the traced one with the one you produce. Request to correct the motto text in the national emblem of the Karakalpak ASSR.

  • The language of the motto on the right side of this emblem should be Karakalpak, not Russian. The word "ПРОЛЕТАРИИ ВСЕХ СТРАН," in the upper right corner should be changed to the word "БАРЛЫҚ ЕЛЛЕРДИҢ ПРОЛЕТАРЛАРЫ,", the word "СОЕДИНЯЙТЕСЬ!" in the lower right corner should be changed to the word "БИРЛЕСИҢИЗ!", and other content remains unchanged. Details can be found in this internet image and this web page.
    The language of the motto on the right side of this emblem should be Karakalpak, not Russian. These are logos of ministries of the Syrian government. Could someone please convert them into SVG format?
The Syrian emblem (the golden eagle) can be taken from here: File:Emblem of Syria.svg.
The text must always be green (even when it is white in the JPG file), specifically this color: #002623.
In some cases, the Syrian emblem and the text are not centered but aligned to the right; however, in the SVG version they should be centered, like all the others.
The only exception is the last logo, which is slightly different from the others and must be kept exactly as it is in the SVG.
In other words, image number 1 can be used as an example of how all the others should be made, except for the last one.
The background must always be transparent. In the SVG, include only the emblem and the text in Arabic and in English.
